Best Parks in East London

April 20, 2022 |

East London is a great place to live and to visit, it has some of the best restaurants in London and more cool bars and clubs than you could ever need but if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle it also has some amazing parks that are worth visiting.

If you want to get away from the hectic life that London often brings then here are some of the best parks to visit in East London.

Victoria Park

As one of London’s largest parks, Victoria Park has everything you need to chill out and relax. But if you want to move a little more it also has a bowling green, tennis court and plenty of lakes to walk around too.

There’s also a market here every Sunday between 10 am and 4 pm that sells local produce as well as some of the best doughnuts you will taste in London. After a long stroll in the park, there are also plenty of cafes where you can stock up on food and drink too.

For the little ones, there is an adventure playground with climbing frames and a splash pool which should tire them out.

Overall a nice place to visit when you want to escape city life.

Epping Forrest

While Epping Forest isn’t really a park it’s still a great outdoor space in East London. For runners or walkers alike, there’s plenty of space to explore, with over 2400 hectares you won’t run out of places to explore any time soon.

There are plenty of trails to explore, the shortest being around 2 miles long with the longest trail coming in over 15 miles. If you fancy a day outdoors Epping Forest is a great choice.

Walthamstow Marshes

Located between Hacknet and Waltham Forest, Walthamstow Marshes is another park that cyclists, walkers and runners will love. If you have explored the other parks on the list or completed the trails in Epping Forest, Walthamstow Marshes is another nice day out.

Queen Elizabeth Park

For a family day out in East London, Queen Elizabeth Park is one of our favourites and we highly recommend it. It has everything here for all ages including play areas, open fields, and some great food choices too.

If there are any thrill-seekers among you, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is home to the world’s longest tunnel slide too. You can find out more about the park on their website:

Springfield Park

There’s not as much to do here as in the other parks on the list, but that isn’t a bad thing. If you want a quiet day out with the family Springfield park is perfect. You can sit along the river and enjoy a picnic without the stresses of everyday London life.
